Part time roles available in our city centre venue:
The Cambridge Distillery has been recognised as creating the world’s most innovative spirits in three consecutive competitions, and has won first place in every international competition we have ever entered. We are a very small team with exceedingly high standards, enabling us to reach and maintain quality of worldwide acclaim. If you would like to join us, read on.
Our central Cambridge tasting room and shop – Cambridge Gin Laboratory – has since November 2015 established itself as a destination for high quality educational gin experiences. To cater to a growing demand, we are now looking to expand the gin lab team with a part time lab assistant. The main task will be to host educational gin tastings on weekends and evenings, as well as assisting the Gin Laboratory Manager in ad hoc tasks such as gin sales during shop opening hours. The hours are expected to be 10-15 hours per week, mainly on weekends and occasionally week days/evenings.
Suitable applicants will:
- Be highly motivated to join our hard working and innovative team
- Be a confident presenter, able to engage an audience and explain concepts clearly
- Be able to work weekends and evenings
- Like dogs (especially Labradors)
Further desirable attributes include:
- A working knowledge of gin and the broader spirits industry, and / or a formal qualification in wines / spirits (eg WSET)
- Experience in the wine / spirits trade, especially in customer facing roles
- Experience in teaching and / or public speaking / presenting in general
Whilst knowledge of the gin / spirits industry would be advantageous, it is by no means necessary. We offer internationally recognised training to all our team members.
It is important to understand that you will be joining a small team, so there will be many occasions on which you would be expected to assist in other areas of the business as necessary (e.g. filling and sealing bottles, or foraging for botanicals!). Equally, we all pull together when necessary, so there will be some flexibility in both directions regarding the cited hours.
To apply, please send your full CV and cover note to firstname.lastname@example.org
We are an interesting company and like to work with interesting people, so please take this opportunity to tell us a bit about yourself.
If you have any specific enquiries about the role, please feel free to contact us. The closing date for applications is 9am, Monday the 13th of February, 2017, but since we may start interviewing candidates earlier we strongly encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
